Q:
What inspired you to start Holy Laughter?
A:
I read a Christian humor cartoon book and I didn't laugh. I said "I
can do better than this" so I started writing down ideas but never
did anything. Then one summer, I broke my leg so I had nothing to do so
I just started drawing and learning how to make webpages
Q:
Why the name "Holy Laughter?"
A:
Holy laughter is a controversial spiritual gift, but I still believe it
is from God. My drawings may be a bit controversial but it is all God
inspired. He gave me a gift so I'm just using it.
Q:
What are your plans from here?
A:
I plan to continue drawing for free. I have applied to syndicates but
the future of comics in on-line. You have no restraints, no limits, anything
you want. I'll still continue to draw for fun. It's what I do.
Q:
Where do you get your ideas?
A:
I warp my mind by watching a lot of Conan O' Brien and The Simpsons, and
then I just start reading. I read anything like newspapers, magazines,
or The Bible, then all these ideas start flowing in my head. I'm not a
funny person, but I know what funny is.
Q:
Where did you get inspiration for your characters?
A;
Yeah, I know my drawings look a lot like The Far Side and The Simpsons
sometimes, but that's because I've been drawing/copying them my whole
life and I don't know how to draw in any other way.
Q:
Have you ever gotten in trouble before?
A:
yeah, one time I had some random visitor who told me that a drawing was
bordering pedophilia. I don't even know what that is, but I took that
drawing down (Aren't you curious what the drawing is?). I also had some
complaints about my "Let everything that has breasts praise the Lord."
Some people don't like me doggin on Jesus but I'm just pointing out what
he did for us (dying on the cross).
Q:
Tell me about your fans?
A:
Some people don't believe I did all these. Everyone loves a different
drawing. My favorite is The Transfiguration but I know people who like
drawings which I think are lame. Some girls love them, but most girls
don't think it's funny at all. I love hearing people laugh.
Q:
What else do you draw?
A:
I draw caricatures. I've been doing that for a while now. I can't draw
females well for some reason. I don't have much "experience"
with them. I drew Bible studies for 4 years for 4th graders at my church.
It was my only way of containing them. I put some of them on my site.
I also do some graphics but I'm not very good at that.
